Larry P. Ritzman, 86, of Lewis Center, went absent from the body and home with the Lord on November 11, 2024. He was born in Akron to the late Paul and Kathryn (Shoemaker) Ritzman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother James Ritzman and sister Kay L. Money.
Having served in the US Army in Intelligence, Larry earned a doctorate from Michigan State University, and served as a professor emeritus at both Ohio State University and Boston College, with great distinction. He authored and co-authored many textbooks in his field of Operations Management. Larry was a cancer survivor, a teacher of the Bible, and loved the outdoors while being a loving husband, father, grand-father, and brother.
Larry will be deeply missed by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Ann (Jones) Ritzman; son Todd (Charlene Spence) Ritzman; daughter Karen (Kevin) Poling; sister Joan Ritzman; his six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service celebrating Larry’s life will be held at 11:00am on November 19th, at Linworth Baptist Church, 6200 Linworth Rd, Worthington. The family will receive friends from 10am until the service time. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Kingwood Memorial Park.
