Darrel (Kim) Stickler, age 73, passed away on October 7, 2024 from complications related to dementia. He was born on August 27, 1951 to the late Wanda and Darrel Stickler. He is survived by three siblings Cindi, Kevan, Karen and a nephew, Aaron. He was preceded in death by all four grandparents: Virgil and Luella Clendenning, and Harley and Thelma Stickler.
Kim was super intelligent and a very quick wit. He was also a talented artist. After graduating from Toronto High School in Ohio, he attended the Art Institute of Pittsburg. He created computer art and generated moving logos for various Columbus, Ohio companies. Kim worked as an engineer at WCMH (Channel 4) in Columbus for over forty years. He was proud and dedicated to his work there.
Kim was a genuine computer geek! Programming and graphic design were his passions. He taught graphic design classes at Columbus State.
Since his youth, Kim was a huge fan of Superman. He even had a dog named Krypto! He was known to his friends for his humor and intelligence.
Kim loved his family and friends as they loved him back. Quite often, he and his mother had almost a telepathic mode of communication.
Kim had one great love of his life but they never married.
He will be missed by many. RIP Kim Bwanna/Kimbo!
In lieu of flowers, donations in Kim’s name may be made to a cat shelter charity of your choice.
A visitation for Darrel will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 N High Street, Worthington, OH 43085, followed by a funeral at 10:00 AM.
