She was born on August 28, 1963 in Akron, Ohio to Howard and Esther (Neiheiser) Snyder. She was a 1981 graduate of Orrville High School and in 1985 she graduated Cum Laude from The University of Akron with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
Julie started her nursing career at Akron City Hospital (now Summa Health System – Akron Campus). She met her future husband while working together at the Akron Square Theater in Akron and they eventually married. They later moved to Columbus, Ohio where she continued her nursing career at Columbus Children’s Hospital (now Nationwide Children’s Hospital), St. Ann’s Hospital (now Mount Carmel St. Ann’s) in Westerville, Ohio, and she worked for two pediatricians. While working full-time and raising her two young children, Julie went back to school and received her School Nurse Certification through The Ohio State University. She has been a School Nurse the past 18 years for the Columbus City School District. She loved her job and working with the children. She was a member of the Ohio Association of School Nurses and the National Association of School Nurses.
Julie loved spending time at the beach, any beach, especially sitting lakeside at the family cottage in Conneaut, OH. She loved Marching Bands. She participated herself in High School and College playing the Clarinet and Tenor Sax respectively. Both of her children were in their high school Marching Band and she was the nurse present for their band camps. In her role as nurse she accompanied them to most of their Marching Band activities. Julie also enjoyed gardening, family travels and adventures, and spending time with family and friends. She took pleasure in visiting different Ohio Wineries with her daughter and drinking Margarita’s with friends. She didn’t hesitate to let you know her favorite colors were orange and peach. Julie was outgoing and could talk to anyone, no one was a stranger for long. She was loved and admired by all who knew her, always full of laughter, and concerned about everyone else but herself.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Eric, daughter Jennifer, son Nicholas, sister Laurie Snyder (Jacksonville, FL), brother Gary (Gigi) Snyder (Columbus, OH), niece Deborah (Dominic) Cassaro, nephew John Snyder, four Aunts, multiple cousins, and her stepmother Carlene Snyder (Orrville, OH).
