John Moore, 69, of Columbus, passed away on January 23, 2023. He was born on November 19, 1953, in Dayton Ohio, to the late Lewis and Maxine (Carpenter) Moore. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by dearly loved Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
He was a 1972 graduate of Worthington High School and went on to attend Franklin University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. For the entire span of his career, John served for the Franklin County Municipal Court Clerk’s Office as deputy clerk and retired on December 31, 2022.
John was a caring, thoughtful, considerate, kind, selfless, and respectful person, with a great sense of humor. These are just a few adjectives to describe the person that he was. One of Johns many interests was fishing. He loved to fish and especially loved bass fishing. He was proud of his expansive collection of high quality fishing rods, which he used to fish many lakes throughout the country. Also, John enjoyed playing pool and was a member of several pool leagues around the area. He was an avid Ohio State Football fan. Above all, John loved his friends. He had many friends and many of them were lifelong friends from his high school days.
John is survived by his siblings, Cinda and J. Michael Moore; extended family and close friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023, from 2pm until 5pm, at the Schoedinger Worthington funeral home, 6699 North High St., Worthington OH, 43085.
John loved being around children and families. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Kobacker House.
The family would like to say a special thank you to his close friends, who helped care for him the past couple of years, Bobby Condon and Renee Robbins. Also, much thanks to Ohio Health Hospice for their guidance and excellent care.
