James K McKee

James McKee, 69, of Columbus, passed away on May 8, 2023. He was born on April 28, 1954, in Ukiah, CA, to the late Wilson and Jane (Richardson) McKee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters; Jennifer McKee, Margo McKee, and Lynne Wolf.

Jim was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. He doted on his family and was happiest when he was surrounded by people he loved so dearly. Jim was actively involved in the recovery community for 40+ years. Many found strength to change their lives because of his gentle, loving encouragement. He was a light to others and accepted people exactly for who they were. His kind and generous spirit will be missed by many. Even though Jim was taken too soon, he lived an extraordinary life surrounded by people who adored him.

James will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Beth McKee; children, Christina (Brian) Kelley and Chris (Caitlin Nelson) Grutsch; grandchildren, Emery and Samuel Kelley, Charlie Kelley, Jaxson Grutsch, and Noa Grutsch.

A memorial service for James will be held Friday, May 19, 2023 at 4:00 PM at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 N High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085, followed by a celebration of life from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
