James “Jim” Hannewald, age 75, passed away Sunday, March 19th 2023. He was born November 24th 1947 in Mansfield, to the late Paul and Joan “Jody” Hannewald. Jim is survived by his sister Diane Moore, brother David “Chip” Hannewald, Jeffrey Moore (nephew) and Juliana Engleman, Gregory Moore (nephew), Jim and Stephanie (niece) Britt and their children James and Ava, Michael Hannewald (nephew) and Karlyn Hannewald (niece), along with other dear family, friends and his loving neighbors.
Jim was a proud graduate of Mansfield Sr. and Hanover College in IN with a Bachelors degree in Accounting and began and ultimately retired, working for General Motors/Fisher Body in Mansfield in their accounting department.
Jim stayed very involved within his community by being an active member in the Jaycees, The Renaissance Theatre and helping with treasury duties at both First English Lutheran Church and The Miss Ohio Pageant among many other things. In his free time he enjoyed getting together with friends whether it was going to breakfast, playing cards and just hanging out, he was always a bright presence in people’s lives and will be missed deeply.
