Brenda Jean Barnes

Brenda J. Barnes, age 53, sadly passed away at home Tuesday, December 13, 2022. She was born April 26, 1969, in Seattle, Washington to parents Daniel & Maxine. Brenda is survived by her son Joshua Fairweather and daughter in law Helen. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 11 years Kim Leighton Barnes. Brenda was a loving wife, mother, and friend. She was a great cook and often showed her love to others through her delicious bakes (her hot fudge cheesecake & peanut butter cookies were the most highly requested), and homemade dishes. While she didn’t grow up in the south she exemplified southern hospitality. When she hosted you for dinner she would often say, “If you go home hungry that’s your own fault.” Brenda was a lover and collector of all things frogs and had a expansive collection including cookie jars, salt and pepper shakers, figurines, and trinket boxes. She was strong willed, a true fighter, compassionate, and always willing to help others. Her passing has left a huge hole in the hearts of many. Her presence will be greatly missed. ALWAYS remembered and NEVER forgotten. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, family, and friends that made her life worth living.
