He was the gentlest of men, but a fierce protector of all the women in his life. He was married to the love, this life, Elizabeth C Johnson, for 70 years. They were as we say “glued at the hip“, especially after retirement. From New York to Florida, and ultimately settling in Georgia, they journeyed, always together.
Walt was a dedicated and loving father to his daughters Gail (John), Patricia, and Beth (Garry). He loved driving, so many of the family adventures were road trips to Florida, camping cross country, and Canada.
He was the best “Poppy“ to his grandchildren, Jessica (Bobby), Derek, Jason, and Alexa. Always patient, always smiling. His great grandson, Maverick, was a special source of joy for him as babies are.
Walt is survived by his sister Claire “Sug“ Johnson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
