She was born on June 7, 1940, in Washington, DC to Rudolf Lutz and Joan Lutz McFarland.
She graduated from Wilson High School in the Class of 1958. She married Charles Edward Rice in 1962. In 1969, they bought their family home in Greensboro, NC where they raised their two children. In 2019, they moved to Woodstock, GA.
She worked for over 20 years for Stern, Graham, Klepher Law Firm and retired after her stroke in 2008. After retiring, she spent her time reading, doing puzzles, gardening, baking and crocheting. She was a huge fan of dogs, Duke basketball and the Redskins. Her passion was crocheting. Her handmade Christmas ornaments, scarves and afghans are cherished by many.
Trudy is survived by her husband, Charles Edward Rice; two children, Edward Rice, Traci Rodman and husband Daniel; three granddaughters, Erin Bernal, Amy Rodman and Kelly Rodman; siblings, Anne Jessup and husband Michael, Ray Lutz.
In addition to her parents, Trudy was preceded in death by her brother, Rudolf Lutz Jr.; and her grandson, Kevin Rodman.
A memorial service will be arranged for friends and family after the first of the year.
