Thomas Stephen Smith Jr.

Thomas “Tom” S. Smith, Jr., age 90 of Woodstock, passed away October 6, 2018. He was born October 3, 1928 in Marietta, GA, to the late T.S. and Octavia Smith. Tom worked as a child and young man at the Strand Theater; served in the US Navy (during the Korean Conflict) on the USS Shields; retired in 1988 after 35 years with Lockheed Martin Corporation and was a member of Stonecrest Baptist Church. He was the Past Worthy Patron of Kennesaw Chapter 414 O.E.S. and Past Master of his Masonic Lodge and member of the Yaarab Temple Shrine Club. Tom was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jeannette Smith and is survived by his daughter and son in law, Angela and Patrick Maxedor of Woodstock; grandson, Scott Crisp (Michelle) of Charleston, SC; great granddaughter, Stacie Crisp Geise and two great-great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday Oct. 9, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Woodstock Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Charlie Pharis will officiate. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Kennesaw. Condolences may be made at www.woodstockfuneralhome.com.
