Our dear Friend, loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather passed away on September 19, 2022. Thomas Rousseau was born in Manhattan on September 14, 1950. Although he was known as “Tom” most of his adult life, he was also known as “Tommy” and ‘TJ” by friends and family in his younger years.
Tom was a kind, soft-spoken man who had a great sense of humor and loved sharing corny jokes. He was easy to get along with and enjoyed finding a unique, fun nickname for everyone around him.
Tom found joy in sports, particularly baseball, and not only enjoyed being a spectator but also played on softball leagues for many years. He was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees, having great memories at the stadium in his youth. Tom loved to read and was especially interested in history. He loved to watch old classic movies. His favorite vacation spots were a variety of beaches on both coasts of Florida, including Venice Beach and St. Augustine.
Tom had a unique voice and worked as a DJ in various radio stations in several cities across the Southeast. This was a great career choice due to his love of music, that included all different genres. After relocating back to Atlanta, he worked behind the cameras in video production for WSB-TV and often spoke fondly of both careers. These led him to work in sales management for most of his career. Once semi-retired, he worked as a host for a few popular restaurants, with the last one being his favorite, Bambinelli’s in Roswell.
Tom is survived by his wife of 26 years, Karen Rousseau; daughters, Chrissy White and Tessa Overturf (Charles); and three beautiful grandchildren.
A private memorial service for family will be held at a later date.
Tom had a bright hope for the future and looked forward to a world when there will be no more sickness or death; Revelation 21:4, Isaiah 33:24, and John 5:28-29.
