My One Year Tribute to Steve and Friends (2-17-2014):

As I woke up today a sadness came over me along with joy. The sadness is the memory of that dreadful day a year ago when Steve, my husband and Brent's dad, passed away.  The joy is the blessings that God has given to me this past year and has shown me that he has been here for us.  As I re-read all the cards and notes I received, I realize there is no way I can thank everyone personally for all their love and support that Brent and I have received this year.  There are a few that I would like to express a sincere thanks to.  

To my son, Brent - I love you so much.  You have shown me what a tremendous young man you have become this year.  Thank you for loving me so much.  To my sister-in-law Jennifer and my brother-in-law Bill who came open heartedly to get Brent and I and took charge even though they were hurting just as much as we were.  For taking in Cody and Ellie and treating them like family.  You gave us your heart!!!  Emilee, your concern and love during this time for Brent was the best thing he could have had.  You are a special girlfriend and I love you very much.  

Sue, thank you for opening your home to me and for allowing everyone to come to your house and the giving of your time and your wonderful hospitality on that Sunday.  John, my boss, thank you for taking me in the night before and for giving up your entire Sunday to be there with me even though you were having a house full of guest that night.  Jim and Debbie, your friendship and love throughout this year has been above and beyond.  Sharing Jim with me made taking care of the house a breeze.  I have learned a lot and hopefully this next year I can do more on my own.  To Becky and Ray - your love and caring, not just that night but throughout the year, has warmed my heart.  To my family - I love you.  

To all my neighbors of Towne Lake - thank you - thank you for everything.  To everyone that has been here for me though this year, through the sorrow, the crying, the memories and hopefully the healing - thank you!  To Cheryl for making my home a tremendous place to live in - to making it me - thank you I feel like a princess.  To my bosses and work friends, my bus buddies, my tennis buddies and my Bunco buddies - thank you thank you for all the shoulders and all the understanding.  God has given me all the avenues to succeed.  Those avenues are you - my family and friends.  I wish I could name everyone individually here but this email would go on for miles and miles.  I know you all know who you are - I have nothing but love for all of you.    

A special thank you to Laura Ann, our Auburn family. Thank you for taking the worrying away from me with regard to Brent and you being there for him and becoming one of my best friends.  Dr. B. and I love you so much!  You show what true "All in Family" is about.  

I have had so many blessings this year.  Blessings I don't take for granted.  Blessings that came when I was down or needed encouragement - they were there whether in a card through the mail, a phone call or a special act of unexpected kindness.  I have learned that when you really trust God he provides and he has done that this year by putting people in my life as far back as 40 years.  They were all in my life for a reason and have had a part in my healing.  Brent and I have learned a lot this year.  One thing is that we are survivors and are truly loved.  LIfe has to go on and we are trying to embrace our new life as we remember the wonderful times we have had with Steve as my husband and Brent's dad.  Those will never be forgotten.  He left us way to early.

Today I will take Steve along with Cody (his and our beloved dog) to their resting place and honor them both.  They will live in that special place in our hearts forever.  We love you forever.

Lisa, although it has been years since Steve worked at CFI in the Training Department, I can still remember that smile and great personality.  Our customers loved him.  My heart is saddened by his passing.  He was way too young.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and Brent.

Steve and I started at CFI 20 years ago.   Brent was still a baby.  We traveled a lot.  At a meeting in Portland I remember Steve saying "I'd rather have a peanut butter and Kelly sandwich with my son than a steak dinner on the road".

He still remains a great spirit and will be missed.

Lisa, my deepest sympathy for your loss.  You and Brent are and will remain in my prayers.

Lisa, I am so sorry for the loss of sweet husband.  Please know that I am keeping you and Brent in my prayers.  I will pray that God will watch over you both.

Steve,  I remember so well the first time we went for Catfish at Backstreet BBQ in Kennesaw.. I tried to get you to at lest try the fish but you would not until I offered to pay for your meal if you did not like it.. After that , Gayle would bring ALl You Can Eat fish and we all loved it.. I will miss your smile and friendship. We will meet again someday.. Keep the fish ready until then..  I miss you my friend..

Steve had only worked here at Stibo for a short time. In that short time he touched us all with his contagious smile and good nature.
