Ralph David Goodson

Ralph David Goodson of Prattville passed away on May 4, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years Julia Goodson, parents Jessie and Lillian Goodson, and his brothers John Goodson(Hazel), Howard Goodson, and Lawrence Goodson. He is survived by his children’s mother Carolyn Goodson and their four children Carl Goodson, Larry Goodson, Cathy Ortiz (Oscar), and Mark Goodson along with 3 grandchildren Randall, Meghan, and Keira. He is also survived by two brothers Ernest Goodson (Annette) and Clarence Goodson (Ann), a sister Mary Ruth Wilson, as well as sisters-in-law Gloria Goodson and Barbara Goodson. He also has two stepdaughters Jimmie Fisher (Jon) and Janie McDuffie.

Ralph was born and lived most of his life in Prattville, AL. He spent four years in the US Air force during the Korean wartime and worked as a carpenter until he retired. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for over 40 years where he loved spending time with the congregation, singing bible hymns with the choir, and mostly worshipping the lord.

A visitation service will be held on Wednesday, May 9 from 5pm – 7pm at the Ridout’s Prattville Chapel and the memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 10 at 11am at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
