Nancy Crow Carter died on April 26, 2017 in Woodstock, GA. She was the daughter of the late Judge Carl E. Crow and Clara Duke Crow. She was born in Camilla, GA on February 26, 1933. Nancy graduated from LaGrange College in 1954, and that year married her college sweetheart, Guy Carlton Carter, Jr. Guy and Nancy spent 56 wonderful years together. Guy sadly passed away in 2010. Nancy and Guy moved to Albany, GA. Her children and husband were always her primary focus, and she thrived in creating a vibrant, happy, loving and interesting home. Nancy loved God, her country, Georgia, people, nature, books and animals. She most of all loved living with her loving husband and best friend. Nancy enjoyed the good fortune in having many close friends. During her life Nancy worked as a high school teacher, librarian, antiques dealer and for many years operated Miss Nancy’s Playhouse nursery school in Albany.
Nancy is survived by hers sons, Carlton Crow Carter of Canton, GA, Clark Lumpkin Carter and his wife Liz of Woodstock, GA and their two daughters and Nancy’s beloved granddaughters, Campbell and Carson. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Clara Tucker of St. Simons Island, GA, nieces Nancy and Patricia Tucker of Littleton, CO, nephew, Sam Tucker and his twin daughters, Mia and Sophia of Switzerland. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Peter Tucker. The family will have a private service.
