Mr. Michael “Big Mike” Bemus, 65, of Austell, GA passed away August 6, 2015. Mike was born on May 3, 1950 in Ft. Bragg, NC. Mike was part of a military family and lived many places growing up. After graduating from Osborne High School, he joined the US Air Force. Mike honorably served during the Vietnam War refueling bomber aircrafts. After his service in the Air Force, Mike attended Georgia State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He spent his career as a plant manager for printing companies that included Quad Graphics and Tatham Advertising. He will be remembered as the type of person that would never ask an employee to do something he was not willing to do himself. Most recently Mike worked as a cab driver for Victory Cab Company and this has been his favorite job. He enjoyed meeting many people as a cabby and became a close friend to many of his clients. He was very friendly and a hard worker. He was devoted to his family and a very doting grandfather. Mike also enjoyed sail boat racing, hunting, fishing and golfing. He was loved by many and will be immensely missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sue Bemus and brother, Jeff Bemus. Mike is survived by his son, Robert Bemus, daughter and her husband, Crystal Bemus and Brandon Clouchete, grandson, Michael Clouchete, brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Lynn Bemus, sisters, Emily Bemus and Debra Dodd and many loving nieces and nephews. A celebration of Big Mike’s life will be Saturday, August 15, 2015 from 1-3pm at Red Top Mountain State Park, Site 1. Military honors will be rendered at 2:00pm.
