Mathew “John” Meyer, 52, of Woodstock, Georgia was welcomed home by our Lord on Saturday, March 8, 2014. John was born on August 12, 1961, in Cudahay, Wisconsin. John joined the United States Navy following high school graduation in June 1979. He retired in 1999 after 20 years of service. He was currently employed by Siemens Power Generation Group as an Engineer. John was a devoted father and husband who loved to travel, ride his Harley, and shoot at the range. John was an active parishioner of Saint Michael the Archangel, and was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Dolores and Mathew Meyer, and brother, Peter Meyer.
John is survived by his wife, Sandy, daughter, Kristen, and son, Mathew Meyer; sister Amanda (Ira) Wollner, brother, Joseph (Debbie) Meyer, sister, Margaret Meyer, sister Julie (Mark) Engley, sister Laurie Meyer, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 12, 2014, 5:00 pm– 8:00pm with Rosary Service at 7:00pm at St. Michael the Archangel Church. Funeral will be Thursday, March 13, 2014, 10:30am St. Michael the Archangel Church. Reception immediately following the service. Interment will be 1:30pm at Georgia National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in John’s memory for dedication of a stained glass window in the new church.
