Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Glenwood Shelby Hills Cemetery in Bristol, Tennessee with the Rev. Brent Vicars officiating and Woodstock Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Turner was born April 6, 1928 in Melrose, Massachusetts to the late Wesley Howard Blank, and Mary Turner Shute Blank. Mrs. Turner met her husband at Sullins College and moved to Chattanooga, TN and later to Cleveland, TN around 1956. After being a long term resident of Cleveland, TN she moved to North Port, FL, for over 18 years, prior to moving to Georgia in 2009. Mrs. Turner attended Roswell United Methodist Church in Roswell, GA, and she was a previous member of Broad Street United Methodist in Cleveland, TN.
Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Turner, a daughter, Susan Lowery, a son, Scott Turner and a nephew, Jimmy Anderson.
Survivors include: two sons, David (Mary) Turner, Mills River, NC, Stephen (Janice) Turner, Marietta, GA, one daughter, Joyce Turner, Holly Springs, GA; one brother, Wesley H. Blank, Jr., Bradenton, FL; one brother-in-law, Dr. James E. (Jane) Turner, Knoxville, TN; nine grandchildren, Rick Lowery, Jr., Matt Lowery, Andrew Turner, Justin Turner, Allison Costley, Adam Turner, Will Costley, Ryan Turner, Victoria Turner Higby; two great grandchildren, Justin Lowery and Preston Higby; four nieces, Janis Leftwich, Ann Rechenbach, Laurie Rose and Judy Kennedy, one nephew, Doug Anderson.
