Marilyn Kay Goetze, age 84, peacefully went to be in the arms of the Lord on January 22, 2023. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 66 years, William (Bill) Goetze, her son, Todd Goetze, her two grandchildren, Austin & Charli Goetze, and her three lovely great grandchildren, Macy, Ava & Audrey. Also surviving is her sister & brother-in-law, Janice & Hank Garlish, and brother & sister-in-law Mike & Becky Manuel. Many loving nieces and nephews, lifelong friends, loyal co-workers, and business associates in the automotive & broadcast industry also survive. She was cherished and loved by everyone in her life, especially her family. Marilyn’s grandchildren were her everything and she looked forward to seeing them and talking to them on a regular basis.
Born and raised in Peoria, IL, Marilyn began her career in 1955 with the Chevrolet Motor Division as an office manager. She then made the transition to be executive assistant in the broadcast industry for WMBD, the top network affiliate in the Peoria market.
Marilyn adored the company of people both in the workplace and in her personal life and was extremely devoted to her family, just as they were to her. Marilyn truly enjoyed traveling the east coast in their motor coach and spending time on the “Marilyn K” in Palm Beaches. Most recently, you could find her enjoying a game of bingo with her friends at the Arbors at Bridgemill.
A memorial service for Marilyn will be held Sunday, February 19, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM EASTERN TIME at Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, GA 30188. The link is available below this obituary in the "Services" block; it is also here:
