Lynda Bernice Bennett is from Janesville, Wisconsin and moved to California with her mom when she was 12. There she met her husband, Ron, on a blind date and 28 years later work and family brought them to Marietta, GA. Later in life, they moved to Woodstock, GA. At the age of 71 after a long and difficult battle with pulmonary fibrosis, she went to her home in heaven on December 25, 2018. Jesus must have wanted her home for his birthday celebration.
Lyn (aka “Mimi”) lived her life for that day. The day she would meet her King face to face. She committed her life to loving God and loving others and that was evident from her actions as she selflessly gave her time, money and energy. If you knew her, you knew whose she was.
Lyn is preceded by her parents, Bernard and Dorothy Burr and great-grandson, Ryland Moore. Her memory will be cherished by her husband of 52 years, Ronald “Ron” Lee Bennett of Woodstock; daughter, Kelli Griffin and her fiancé, Jeff Richter, of Rome; son, Stephen Bennett of Villa Rica; daughter in law, Amy Bennett of Villa Rica; grandchildren, Amanda Moore and her husband, Nick, of Cartersville, Tyler Griffin of Cartersville, Piper Lyn Bennett of Villa Rica and Riley Bennett of Villa Rica; and great-grandson, Parker Moore of Cartersville.
Lyn was an active member of Cross Point City Church in Cartersville, GA and believed strongly in their mission. The family asks, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to her church in her honor.
