Linda “Gail” Eley, 81, of Woodstock, GA passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at her residence. She was born on April 20, 1940 in Atlanta, GA to Ernest and Effie Mae Black. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her late husband, Roy Dunn, her son Donald Dunn, her brothers Billy and Danny Black, and her sisters Catherine Ethridge and Diane Eriquezzo.
She is survived by her son Frankie (Wanda) Dunn of Dallas, GA and daughter Denise (Stephen) Smith of Kennesaw, GA, her granddaughters Carmen (Patrick) Killingsworth of Hiram, GA, Mandy (Jeremy) Tyson of Rockmart, GA, Heather (Wade) McFalls of Kennesaw, GA, Stephanie Smith of Villa Rica, GA, Staci (Steve) French of Atlanta, GA, and her great-grandchildren Ayden, Zack (Shyla), Justin, Emily, Isaac, Greyson, Gage, and Marleigh. She is also survived by her sister Juanita Bonds of Ocean Springs, MS, and brothers Ronnie Black of Senoia, GA and Hayden Black of Dallas, GA. She is also survived by 14 nephews and 8 nieces, and many, many great nieces and nephews.
Gail became a grandmother in 1977 and became a great-grandmother, affectionately known as Mimi, in 2000. She was very proud of all of her family. She was an avid listener of Southern Gospel music. She loved traveling and really enjoyed taking day trips to the mountains, just enjoying the beauty around her from behind the wheel. She would always have her bags packed for a weekend getaway with anyone! She loved worshipping the Lord at The United Pentecostal Church of Douglasville GA, and then later at Living Water Ministry of Dallas, GA.
We will be having a Celebration of Life gathering at Woodstock Funeral Home (8855 Main St, Woodstock, GA 30188) on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Russ Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Rolling Hills Memory Gardens in Acworth, GA.
