Leta Ward Harris, Woodstock, Ga. passed away on January 12, 2023. Leta was the daughter of Dr. Charles Pelham Ward and Sarah Jane Bullock Ward.
Leta was a graduate of Druid Hills High School, Class of 1941. She also attended Georgia State University.
A member of Druid Hills Presbyterian Church, Atlanta, Ga for 40 years, she was also a member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church, West Palm Beach, Fl; United Methodist Church, Boynton Beach, Fl; Oak Forest United Methodist Church, Hayesville, NC, and Kennesaw United Methodist Church, Kennesaw, Ga
Leta was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Old Unicoi Trail Chapter, Young Harris, Ga.
WWII found Leta employed as secretary to a radio engineer, Arlington, Va. Returning to Atlanta, Leta was employed by the Sherwin - Williams Paint Company for 29 years.
Leta was the wife of Bruce Bronson Gant, Bradley Beach, NJ, and Harry William Harris, Portage, Pa.
She is survived by children, Bruce Bronson Gant, Jr and S. Claire Gant Housholder; Grandchildren: Amanda G. Biggs, James E. Gant Jr, Heather Gant Darby, J. Michael Gant, Bryan D. Gant, S. David Gant, Michelle Housholder Provost, and Donald M. Housholder; Step-son, Bill Harris, and Step- grandson, Brent Harris. 18 great grandchildren; Nieces: Nancy W. Virts, Jane H. Hix, Beth H. Burgess. Nephews: John Ward, Ward Hall, David Stallings Jr, Craig Stallings, Brian Stallings, and Todd Stailings.
Leta was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Jane Hall and Bette Stallings; son James E Gant, Sr ; nephew, Michael Stallings and niece Leslie Currie.
Funeral services to be at on January 18, 2023 at 11 a.m. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Reverend James E. Gant, Jr. officiating.
Private Interment on at Westview Cemetery, 1680 Westview Dr. SW, Atlanta, Ga.
