Laura Ann Mayne

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a great friend to many. Mrs. Mayne was a practical individual with simple tastes. She was smart as a whip and enjoyed tennis, playing cards, bunco, and reading absolutely everything. She was the past president of the Lassiter Band Booster Club for 2 years where she used her talents to organize, fundraise, travel, and chaperone. She excelled with the band members when she organized trips to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and Rose Bowl Parade in the same year.

Mrs. Mayne is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Jay Mayne of Marietta; daughters, Megan Arrowood and her husband, Jeremy, of Woodstock, GA and Elizabeth Mayne of Woodstock, GA; son, John Mayne and his fiancé, Megan Pruitt, of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Tyler and Logan Arrowood of Woodstock, GA; brothers, Mike Carsey and his wife, Marie, of Omaha, NE, and Richard Carsey and his husband, Jurg Oggenfuss, of Connecticut; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews to cherish her memory.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, February 24, 2017 at Transfiguration Catholic Church in Marietta, GA. The service is available online at www.transfiguration.com. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Mayne’s honor to the American Cancer Society.
