Larry Stephen Powell

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn of 48 years, daughters Stephanie (Eric) Bridge, Kim (Devin) Leiding, Jennifer (David) Bill, and son Jeremy Powell; brothers Barry Powell and Terry Powell, sisters Sherrie Oliver and KC Woolwine; and grandchildren Justin, Seth, Courtney, Levi, Hannah, Liam, and Kaylee and extended family. Larry was a caring father and husband and brother in Christ to so many who love and miss him. He always thought of others before himself and was always ready to help at a moment's notice to anyone who asked.

Larry was born on January 17, 1951 to Robert Powell and Juanita Powell (O'Neill) in Sacramento, California. He graduated from Sun Prairie High School in Wisconsin in 1969 and joined the Air Force as an Airman in 1970 and was stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi, where he married his high school sweetheart, Kathy (Miller), on February 2nd, 1971. He left the Air Force as a Sergeant, Second Class in 1974. Larry then went to work for Bell Atlantic and retired from Bell Atlantic/Verizon after many years of dedicated work. The work, however, that held the most meaning to him in his lifetime was preaching the Gospel for the Blue Ridge Church of Christ, in Roanoke, Virginia.

The family will receive visitation starting at 12 PM on Friday, July 12th, 2019 at the Woodstock Funeral Home, located at 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, Georgia, 30188. The memorial service will begin at 1 PM.
