Lamar was born April 24, 1961 in Erie, Pennsylvania. Lamar was the third child of four born to the late Otis Hamilton Sr. and Shirley Martin Hamilton. He attended East High School and was active in sports. He graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 1984 with a Bachelors in Communications.
Lamar was a United States Air Force Veteran achieving the rank of Senior Airman departing honorably in 1990. His experience as a financial specialist enabled his transition to Federal service and several professional positions including: System Analysis, Security Management and Emissions Security.
Lamar accepted Christ at an early age. He enjoyed singing Gospel Music and was active in numerous choirs and groups (Edinborough U, Bolling AFB, Christ the King and Victory Christian). He was a founding member of the Free Spirit A capella Group showcasing his powerful baritone voice.
Lamar and Sharon were joined in holy matrimony on October 7, 1989. They became a blended family traveling internationally and finally settling in Georgia in 2002. He was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan, you could catch him sporting his Dallas Cowboy gear on any given Sunday. Lamar loved kids, landscaping, grilling, gardening and traveling.
His memory will always be cherished by his loving wife of 30 years, Sharon Lane Hamilton; sisters, Patricia Jenkins and Diane Billups; brother, Otis Hamilton; stepson, Jarod Smith and a host of relatives and friends.
