Major Kevin Thomas Graessle, USMC, Retired, age 56 of Marietta, GA passed away November 25, 2017. Kevin was born on September 23, 1961 in South Orange, NJ. After high school, Kevin joined the United States Marine Corps and honorably and faithfully served for 27 years. After his retirement, Kevin worked at a Project Manager for Origin Group. He had a work ethic unmatched by anyone. He enjoyed cars, the Pittsburgh Penguins, and was an avid gun collector. He was very funny and loved to be with his family and friends. Kevin was happiest when he was cheering on his children at their hockey games, sitting by the fire pit, and working in his yard. Kevin was and always will be extremely grateful to his friend and neighbor, David Parsons. David gave Kevin the gift of life by becoming a living donor and giving Kevin one of his kidneys. Unfortunatly, Kevin was diagnosed with cancer less than one year post kidney transplant. This life-saving donation gave Kevin many more months with his friends and family. Kevin will be immensely missed by many friends and loved ones. He leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Mary Ellen Graessle; son, Ryan Maxwell Graessle; daughter, Shelby Ann Graessle; parents, Richard and Marie Graessle; brother, Richard Graessle Jr (Holly); sisters, Theresa Lee (Brian) and Yvette Bruns (Ted); and many loving nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be Friday, December 1, 2017 at 8:45am in the chapel of Woodstock Funeral Home. Interment will full military honors will follow at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton.
