John was a dear friend and I was shocked to hear that he had passed.
Life seems to get in the way of friendships sometimes. I will eternally 
regret my not having kept in closer contact with him.  His wonderful
values and amazing knowledge seemed boundless. We both shared 
a love of golf and so my dear friend,  we will meet again on the Links
of Ireland someday in another time.
My deepest sympathy to his family who he spoke of often and with
great affection.

I found out recently that John had passed away. I'm so sorry that he left this world so soon. He helped so many people, including myself. May his memory be a blessing. 

Sorry for the delay in this, but my circumstances have recently just allowed me to post this.

I cared deeply about John.

He was an amazing man and had a lasting impression on me.

He died too young.

John was one of a kind in his knowledge of international finance, devotion to our values as a nation and unafraid ti speak out against injustices caused by those who sought to undermine our nation’s security. I did not know John well during my 20 year tenure in the Congress, but John was the first “insider” who protected me and my family from unsavory characters as I transitioned from public service to private life. John was known and respected by leaders who interacted with him. John never compromised his principles nor his love for country. John’s energy, dedication and patriotic commitment to the principles of our nation lives on in each of us who knew and worked him John. May John’s spirit live on forever! I have known John for 25 years and was in contact with him via text or email on a weekly basis.
John was a great friend as we shared mutual interests .

His insights , wisdom and advice were always appreciated and  considered by me to be invaluable.
I find myself having to consciously restrain from texting him  as I cannot believe he  is no longer there to respond

When I came to Georgia to meet my boyfriend’s father John for the first time, I was nervous. I knew he was intelligent and well respected in the intelligence community. But John instantaneously put me at ease and I have loved him ever since. He was warm and kind and generous. He made people feel welcomed. He was an attentive listener. I always got the sense that he genuinely cared about my thoughts—that he wanted to get to know me, to learn about my goals and dreams, and to support me in any way he could. He respected others, encouraged others and believed in them. He was well-traveled, knew a lot about history and politics, was a lively storyteller and always had something fascinating to contribute to any conversation. I feel honored to have known him. I deeply admire what a loving, generous, devoted father he was to Arelis and Patrick. They were his world. I am deeply sad he will not be with us physically for longer.
