Joe B Shipman

Memorial services will be held 1 P.M., Tuesday August 23, 2011 at Woodstock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Shannon Back officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Inurnment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery with Woodstock Funeral Home directing. Flowers will be accepted.

Mr. Shipman was born September 16, 1944 in Lubbock, TX to Estella Bingham Shipman and the late Jesse Ernest Shipman. He was later in the Marine Corp and served in Vietnam. Mr. Shipman was self employed as an Electrical Consultant.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Shipman, Woodstock, GA., one daughter Susan Garcia (Dan), Woodstock, GA; two sons, Steve Shipman (Lorrie), Bethlehem, GA., Joe Shipman II (April), Waleska, GA; four grandchildren, Megan and Austin Garcia, Logan and Amelia Shipman; two sisters, Peggy Dew (Gerald), Burlington Junction, MO., Villa Rogers (Skip), Freeport, TX; three brothers, John Shipman, Freeport, TX., Larry Shipman (Donna), San Dia, TX., Lin Shipman (Karon), Trinity, TX; sister-in-law, Beth Welfel (Ron), Austin, TX; brother-in-law, Ralph Howard (Margaret), Victoria, TX. Woodstock Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
