Jerry was born to the late Eulah L. Hill and the late Cathryn Montgomery Hill on May 17, 1947 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was the youngest of two children.
Jerry was a quiet, intelligent man with a great sense of humor. He was dedicated to his family and enjoyed golf and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a world traveler residing in Corpus Christi, TX, Meridian, MS, Japan, and his favorite location, Hawaii. He was a graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans, LA and received his Master in Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He served his country as a Commander in the U.S. Navy, Facilities Director of Yale University and had served on various committees on his neighborhood HOA.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Eulah and Cathryn Hill, and niece, Melissa Hill. His memory will be cherished by his wife of 48 years, Patty B. Hill of Woodstock, GA; children, Adam L. Hill (Elizabeth) of Marietta, GA and Amanda M. Hill (Noah Mundahl) of Edina, MN; grandchildren, Everett Hill, Evelyn Hill and Peter Jerry Mundahl; brother, Wayne E. Hill of Tucson, AZ; and nephews, David Hill (Kirsten) and Patrick Hill (Joni).
Please join the family in celebrating the life of Jerry D. Hill on Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 2:00pm until 5:00pm at Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main Street Woodstock, GA 30188. Jerry will be laid to rest at 1:30pm Monday, October 24, 2022 at the Georgia National Cemetery. Please plan on arriving between 1:00pm - 1:30pm or you are welcome to livestream the service through Woodstock Funeral Home's Facebook page.
