James was a man of deep, unshakeable faith that fueled his passion to help others, which for him manifested in the businesses he created throughout his life. He invested his time into the fields of business consulting, finance, tax and real estate. Virtually all of his clients took a liking for James and soon after became great friends. James’ desire to help others inspired him to continue his life-long career until his passing.
James was an alumni of Fresno State University, BS Business, and later received an advanced CLU degree. He was the author of two books: The Challenge and The Mission. to help people be in highest purpose, truth and love, in both their personal and business life.. He was honored to call Campus Church his church home and to serve there with his family. Greater Atlanta Christian School was a cornerstone of “faith in action” for him as he believed in the same mission statement “…to help each student grow as Jesus did in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.” Above all else, James was committed to his family, through his wisdom in guidance, generosity and loyalty. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
James’ memory will be cherished by his wife of 12 years, Lea Argel Long; children, Michael (Michelle) Long, Mark (Becky) Long and Melissa Long; stepchildren, Mat (Lindsey) Toomey, Nick Toomey and Brandon Toomey; sister, Andrea (Dan) Fry; nephews, Craig (Gail) Fry and Brian Fry; grandchildren, Kayla, Nick, Zach, Xander and Gavi; and many friends whose lives he touched.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 PM on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Campus Church 1525 Indian Trail Lilburn Road NW Norcross, Georgia 30093. All are invited to join the family in fellowship following the services.
A special message from the family:
We are grateful for the numerous emails, texts and messages from people asking how to help. As you are all aware, due to James’ illness, he was unable to continue his passion with work and his passing came more quickly than anticipated. If anyone would like to make a donation, you may do so at www.gofundme.com/james-long-memorial-fund. If you are not able to donate, please leave a message for our family to read for encouragement. Thank you for all of your support and love during such a difficult time in our lives.
