George Earl Rice

Mr. George Earl Rice, 90, of Blairsville, GA passed away June 13, 2015. George was born on November 18, 1924 in Atlanta, GA. After graduating from high school, George joined the United States Army. He honorably served under General Mark Clark during WWII. He was in the Tank Corps in Italy. After returning home from war, George returned to Atlanta and started his own business. He ran his gas station and garage in Atlanta on McDonough Blvd. After retirement, George moved into the Lazy R Personal Care Center in Blairsville, GA where he made many friends and loved and took care of the many feral cats. George was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Ruth and Joe Lemmon. He leaves behind his cousin and his wife, Charles Bryan IV and Lisa and their son, Robby Bryan. Interment will be on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 1:30pm at Georgia National Cemetery with military honors.
