Doris – Becky, Mama, MomMom found joy each day even after her diagnosis.
Mama is survived by her daughters; Robyn Adams (Keith), Wendy Vaccaro (Tony) and grandkids; Meghan Palmer, Katey Noel, Anna Vaccaro, AJ Vaccaro, Nicholas Vaccaro; great grands Lydia Noel, Adalyn Noel, Ace Palmer and two Palmer twins on the way. Mama was from Indianapolis and attended IU. She was a Kappa Delta and met her husband of 60+ years, Ron Royer.
Becky served on both the Florida and Georgia service league, when she then moved on to volunteer as a course rater for the GSGA and served two terms on the executive committee.The Georgia State Golf Association is saddened to report the passing of longtime volunteer, Becky Royer. Royer passed away on April 22, 2022.
Royer gave her time to the GSGA for a number of years while heavily involved with the course rating program. She served as an Atlanta zone captain in the 1990's and was influential in growing the course rating program to where it is today.
She joined the board of directors in 1998, and was elected to the executive committee in 2005. As a member of the executive committee from 2005 to 2010, Royer represented the course rating program at its quarterly meetings. She assumed senior director status on the board in 2011.
She loved being with her family most of all and found good in every aspect of life!
A funeral service for Doris will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, GA 30188. Following the funeral service will be a committal service from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Dr, Canton, GA 30114.
