Dianne Mary Haydu Long, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and cousin passed away on April 10, 2023 in Woodstock, Georgia. She was surrounded by her loving family at home after a long and courageous battle with multiple myeloma.
Dianne was born on February 25, 1944 in Plainfield, New Jersey to George K. Haydu Sr. and Loretta Mary Mursell. She married the love of her life, Joe Albert Long, and together they raised seven children. They were married for 41 years and their love for each other was a true inspiration to all who knew them.
Throughout her life Dianne always fought for what she believed in, never backing down from a challenge. She was a woman of deep convictions who always spoke her mind but always treated everyone with kindness and respect.
Dianne's sense of humor was legendary and she always had a way of making everyone around her laugh. Her magnetic personality drew people to her and she was beloved by all who knew her.
She had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She opened her home and her heart to anyone who needed a place to stay and her generosity knew no bounds.
Her greatest achievement was her family and the legacy she left behind. She was a devoted woman who showed multiple generations what true love and acceptance looked like. She is preceded in death by her son, Larry Long and survived by her loving children Michelle Diana, Travis Cornelius Long, Andera Guessippi Long, Patricia Baker Long (Ann), Taralyn Dianne Long, and Vincent Scott who were the joy of her life and she was immensely proud of them all.
She is also survived by her devoted and loving brother, George K. Haydu Jr., her loving cousins John Pat Haydu, Jimmy Haydu, Tommy Haydu, Kenny Haydu, and Zoli Haydu, as well as her beautiful nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dianne will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy will forever be engraved in our hearts and continue to thrive through her family. She will always be remembered as a woman of unwavering strength, courage, and love.
