David John Turner, age 79, of Canton, Georgia, passed away on February 16, 2022.
Mr. Turner was born to the late Leonard Turner and Elizabeth Millar Turner on May 7, 1942 in Kings Coughton, England.
More affectionately known as “Pops” to his family, he was truly a unique individual. Mr. Turner enjoyed international traveling including the Caribbean, England, Vegas and, most recently, the Panama Canal. He enjoyed golf, gambling and socializing. He and his wife, Sheila, enjoyed being around others and hosted gatherings toasting everything in life from special occasions to waking up to a new day. The couple happily lived on a boat for 25+ years.
Mr. Turner utilized his educational background in Agriculture having co owned a business with his two brothers selling industrial mowing equipment internationally. From 1989, he and his wife Sheila opened their business, Turner Outdoor Equipment, distributing John Deere Equipment until retiring in 2006.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Turner is preceded in death by his brother, Joe Turner, and sons, Duncan Turner and Stuart Turner. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sheila Graves Turner; brother, Tony Turner; children, Debbie O'Conner (Nick), David Turner (Karen), James Bunting and Mark Bunting (Heather); grandchildren, Adam, Stephen, Jack, George, Josh, John, James, Tyler, Kailey (Ian), Zoë, Hanna and Avery; great-grandchildren, Maggie and Rory; and other extended family members and friends.
A service will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the Mausoleum Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, 120 Memorial Drive, Canton, Georgia 30114. A celebratory gathering will follow (more information will be posted upon confirmation).
