Christine “Chris” Margaret Falco, age 67, of Ringwood, New Jersey, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022. Chris was born to Maryellen Christine Ryan on July 10, 1955 in Keene Valley, New York. She was the older of two girls and was a wonderful “little” big sister to Kim.
Chris was a very special person. She found joy in making others happy through selfless acts of service, volunteering and giving her time to others. She loved being a wife and a mother – she served as a band parent, middle school theater volunteer, Girl Scout leader and CCD Sunday school teacher.
Chris was an avid reader, maintained an in-home library and encouraged higher education. She was a graduate of Ladycliff College and received her Masters in Science from Fordham University. Combining her compassion to help others and her love of animals, she excelled as an Animal Vector Specialist. She played an integral part in improving the Rabies Program with the Westchester County Health Department and maintained a successful career spanning 25 years.
Chris loved the world and during the global COVID pandemic, she spent her personal time and resources creating hundreds of masks to share with others. More than anything, Chris lived for her daughter, Megan. She was truly the best mom and would have wanted to have been remembered as “Megan’s Mom.”
Chris was the best of us. If you want an example of how to live your life, she is it.
Chris is survived by her husband of 36 years, Rich Falco; daughter, Megan Falco; sister, Kim Lauterbach and her husband, Rick; nephew and godson, Ryan Lauterbach; cousin, Robert Bartilucci and his wife, Gail, and their children: Robert and Michael Bartilucci; furbabies, Hershey, Polly and Amber; feline companions, Miss Piggy and Butterscotch; and many extended family members and friends. Predeceased by her mother, Maryellen Christine Ryan Sklar and her step-father Jordan Jess Sklar.
