Charles Edward Mercer

Charles was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Thomas and Ruby Mercer. He was passionate about his country and the various military branches that he had served. He had an interest in technology and was always eager to learn how to utilize the latest devices. He enjoyed watching movies, fellowship through food, and most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ruby and Thomas Mercer, one brother and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Mercer; daughters Beverly Roberts and her husband, Kenny, of Canton and Amber Johnson of Kennesaw; son, Greg Mercer and his wife, Melissa, of Kennesaw; nine grandchildren: Kayla Mercer, Brandon Mercer, Matthew Mercer, Hunter Roberts, Savannah Roberts, Trey Shayhorn, Victoria Lowe, Jacob Lowe, and Gracie Lowe; one great-grandchild, Noah Mercer; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Friday, January 13, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a services Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Woodstock Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Rolling Hills Cemetery.
