Bob Barrett

Mr. Robert W. Barrett, Sr., “Bob”, 76, of Holly Springs, GA went home to be with the Lord on September 1, 2015. Bob was born on December 11, 1938 in Buffalo, NY to the late Lawrence and Clarice Barrett. He was a graduate of Hoke Smith High School, and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Georgia Tech. After college, he honorably served in the United States Navy, and then enjoyed a long career as a computer programmer with IBM. Deeply in love with the Lord, Bob spent much of his time serving in ministry at The Crossing @ Hickory Flat. He served as an Elder, Trustee and Deacon, sung on the Praise Team and worked in the Media Ministry. He was a faithful attendee for Saturday Morning Bible Study, Sunday and Wednesday night services as well. Bob will be remembered for his unfailingly kind heart and goofy sense of humor. He was very enthusiastic with everything he did and whole-heartedly loved people. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who loved from a place of sincerity that left others forever changed. Bob is going to be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Rob Barrett. Bob leaves behind his faithful and loving wife of 54 years, Pat Barrett, his sister Ruth Barrett of Woodbridge, VA, his daughter, Kathy Alba and her husband Charles, and his Daughter-in-Law, Michelle Barrett. Bob also leaves behind his granddaughter Savanna Massey (and her husband, William, their daughter Reagan and soon-to-be born daughter Mila), grandson Skyelar Barrett, granddaughter Sierra Barrett (along with Huston McKinney and their soon-to-be born son Jaxon) and grandson Sterling Barrett (and his fiancé Shannon Basler). Family and friends will gather to Celebrate Bob’s life on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 11:30am at the Crossing @ Hickory Flat (947 Bailey Road, Woodstock, GA 30188).
