Bessie G Griffin

Mrs. Griffin loved the Lord and walked strongly in her faith as a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

She had a passion for reading and more than anything enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Griffin was a graduate of Georgia Tech and had been one of the pioneer women obtaining a degree in engineering.

She worked in quality control for GEC Avionics, a branch tied closely with the aeronautical company, Lockheed and Martin, for over 20 years. She also had worked as a receptionist for the Corp of Engineers.

Bessie Gault Griffin is preceded in death by her son, William Anthony Griffin; daughter, Sherry Byers and husband, Buddy; and brother, Donald L. Gault. She is survived by her 7 grandchildren: Renee, Shannon, Jeremy, Joshua, Debbie, Jennifer, and Travis; 19 grandchildren: Alexandria, Brittani, Brandon, Caitlin, Ali, Madison, Matthew, Zachary, Savannah, Kyle, Melissa, Brian, Jacklyn, Jacob, Noah, Hannah, Layla, Serenity, and Lucian; 12 great-great-grandchildren: Kaylee, JR, Len, Jackson, Mason, Chloee, Charlie, Blake, Waylon, Bonnie June, Addison, and Camdynn; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 16, 2017 from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm & 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm & 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Woodstock Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 1:00 pm in the funeral home's chapel. Burial will follow at Rolling Hills Memorial Garden in Acworth, Georgia.
