Mrs. Barbara Kenaston White Harris, 73 of Woodstock, GA passed away from congestive heart failure in Kennestone Hospital on April 17, 2015. Barbara was born on July 15, 1941 in Youngstown, OH to the late Jane (King) and Herbert Kenaston. After graduating from Murphy High School in Atlanta, Barbara attended North Georgia College. She was a loving and devoted mother. Barbara was the founding treasurer of the Lassiter Band Boosters Association and a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling around the world, crafting and spending time with friends and family.
Barbara was preceded in death by her first husband, William A. White III.
She leaves behind her husband of 14 years, L. Gerald (Jerry) Harris, sons, William A. White IV of Stockbridge, GA and Brian Edward White (Sue Lynn) of Peachtree City, GA, and daughter, Kimberley Kae [Harris]Wardell (Charles Timothy).
Her grandchildren include: Onie Bray of Macon, GA, Jessica [McKenzie] O’Keefe of Columbus, GA, Ethan McKenzie of Atlanta, GA, Seamus Ryan White of Auburn, Alabama (Auburn University, Connor Gregor White, Robert Ian White, Duncan Alasdair White of Lynchburg, Va (Liberty University), Megan Elizabeth Walters of Marietta, GA, RC Walters of Calhoun GA, Matthew Reid Walters of Kennesaw, GA, Alexander Isaac Walters of Kings Bay, GA (US Navy), Caleb Michael Walters of Camp LeJeune, NC (US Marine Corp), Andrew James Walters, of Marietta, GA, and Hannah [Wardell] Hayes (Hank) of Ranger, GA. She has one great-grandson, Henry Walker Hayes, of Ranger, GA.
She will be missed by her siblings:
sister, Nancy K. Elkins (Charles Larry) of Lutz, FL and nephews Baron Elkins of Westville, NJ and Denton Elkins (Tammy) of Dacula, GA and grand nieces Jocelyn and Candace.
brother, Jeffrey P. Kenaston (Linda) of Nantahala Lake, NC.
A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 2:00pm at Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main St, Woodstock, GA 30188.
