Family and friends, our dearest Auntie Teresa left us yesterday to join her daughter, Pauline, and her eight siblings. She was the last of her siblings, and we thought she would be with us for so much longer.
Any of you who ever spent time with Teresa experienced her warmth, her fierce love of family, and knew of her tireless work ethic. She worked until just a few years ago and retired at the age of 81. She leaves behind a large crew of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews on both sides of the Atlantic, all of whom loved her dearly. She was happiest when able to gather as many of us as possible together for whatever occasion required our presence (although an outing to Atlantic City was a close second).
She loved to tell each of us separately that we were her favorite niece or nephew, and we all enjoyed jostling for current "favorite" status. We will celebrate her life first here in Woodside and later in her hometown of Balla, Co. Mayo.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Teresa’s memory, if desired, can be made to the New York Irish Center: https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.newyorkirishcenter.org/donate__;!!M2D_dUfSiN4E!cH-F7M6rG6Ba0yGxg9-3VuODE0yprQlQZBH-Lrcilt0CvSNIit-lVna-3Xofs7u1vbqlof2HJ8o$ [newyorkirishcenter[.]org]
(Fyi- there is a place to add her name (Teresa Cahill) before you hit submit).
