Mrs. Regina Cassell, 95, long time resident of Jackson Heights, New York, entered into eternal rest on March 2, 2013. Born to James and Margaret Shannon on April 17, 1917 in New York City. After moving to Jackson Heights, she met and married her beloved husband Frank Cassell on July 9, 1945. They were married for 44 years and had two children. Regina or Jeanne as friends knew her, loved being a wife and mother. She and Frank enjoyed ballroom dancing, weekend outings with their children and preparing sumptuous Italian meals for family and friends. Regina also loved to sing and preformed in many Mother's Club musical productions for Blessed Sacrament School.
When her children became full time students, Regina returned to work. She worked at New York Telephone and Con Edison before joining the New York Mets Baseball Team as head of their Special Services department. She remained with the Mets for over 15 years and retired in 1983.
She is survived by her children Raymond Cassell and Donna Cassell, her grandson Corey Cassell, her sister Katherine (Kay) Shannon and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Frank Cassell, brother William Shannon, and sister Margaret (Peggy) DeNatle.
