Our beloved mother left this Earth to be with her beautiful daughter, Alba Luz Cronin. She faced many illnesses and adversities throughout her life, but for anyone who knew her will always remember she was unbelievably strong and fought hard all the way to the end. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like.
Ofelia was born June 9, 1940 in Urrao, Colombia to the late Andres Seguro and Lucia Seguro (Vargas). In December 1969 she migrated to the United States, a country she truly loved for allowing her to raise four children on her own through a lot of hard work and dedication.
Her joy in life was spending time with her family. She leaves behind her loving children Yolanda (Olmedo) Gomez, Jorge Rueda, and Mary (Carlos) Franco as well as her cherished and adored grandchildren Favian, Erika (Jawad), Matthew and Kevin. She also earned the honorable title of "Nani" when she became a great grandmother to Jonevan and Aaron.
She was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her children, but also a second mother to her nieces Sandra and Marcela, as well as her special connection with Melanie. We also cannot leave out her love for tennis, and most importantly, Roger Federer.
We will forever cherish our time with her and the love she gave to everyone who shared their life with her.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.conwayfh.com for the Rueda family.
