Master Sergeant Michael Antonio Macias was born December 28, 1978, and passed away on June 10, 2018 at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Macias and three daughters Kayla, Alyssa, and Chloe. He is also survived by his Mother – Maria; Siblings – Richard, Jerry, Alexandra, and Jovany; Nieces – Christina, Emily, Lauren Angelina, Ava, Jocelyn, Amanda; Nephews – Richard, David, and Evan. He is proceeded in death by his Father – German; Brothers – David and German.
Michael joined the Air Force in 2000 and served honorably until his passing. Michael dedicated his adult life - 18 years - to the defense of our great nation, preservation of our democracy and our way of life, and most importantly to the essential task of building a better future for our children and grandchildren. He served in the intelligence career field, providing unprecedented intelligence – analyzing, correlating, and fusing disparate pieces of information - in support of operations in Afghanistan, Iraq, Korea, many countries in Central and South America, and a variety of other dangerous places around the world. Michael’s work had a purpose, he saved lives by providing the right intelligence, to the right person at the right time – Marines, Sailors, Airmen, and Soldiers around the world have all been benefactors of his superb analysis. Thanks to Michael’s tireless work ethic, selfless service, and commitment to a higher cause we are a safer and more productive nation.
Michael’s family welcomes all friends and family to join them in celebrating Michael’s life. The viewing will be held at Thomas M. Quinn & Sons Funeral Home (3520 Broadway, Astoria, N.Y. 11106) 15 June from 2-5pm and 7-9pm. The Funeral will be held at Saint Joseph Church (43-19 30th Avenue, Astoria) beginning with Mass at 10am.
