Rest in Peace Mr. (Joseph) Kiernan and Thank You for teaching us from Grades 7 through 8 in St. Jude's School and for being the single Most Important Teacher in my life/our lives.

I'm sorry to hear about Mr. Kiernan. I was a student of his in 8th grade at Mary's Nativity. Such a nice, caring human. I learned a lot from him, and attribute him for where I am today. An influential human being, he'll be forever missed. 

My condolences to your family, and friends. Joe it's has been too long not seeing you and the other guys from SMPC. Christy and Debbie have been keeping me up to date with the times you got together with the guys.  The times we had have never grown dim, lots of laughs and great times. Here is a memory from 1972 (pix is dated 1973) when a bunch of us went to see Sha Na Na . Tim Walsh, you, me, Jerry Clark. You are going to be missed.

So sorry to hear about Joe. 
He was a great guy and a very well liked teacher at Mary’s Nativity School, where I was the principal.   He had that rare combination of thorough knowledge of his subject matter and the ability to teach a room full of teenagers on a daily basis and never lose his cool.
Such a wonderful man.

I remember Mr. Kiernan very well! A teacher I will never forgot. At our 8th grade graduation, Mr. Kiernan walked me down the isle because I had to say something. May he Rest In Peace. My sincerest condolences to his family.

Whenever my brother, sister, and I reminisce about our time at St. Jude, Mr. Kiernan’s name always came up. He was such an amazing teacher who easily connected with his students. We have so many fond memories about him. Personally speaking, he was responsible for me eventually becoming a teacher. May he Rest In Peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Kiernan family.

Dear family of Joesph Kiernan,
My name is Luigi I was one of Joe's students at  St Jude in the early eighties.  I remember when he first was hired and became our teacher. It didn't take long for him to become my favorite teacher. Joe always took time out for us. He played football in the parking lot of the school and whiffle ball too. I'm so glad that i got to see him   again when we had a St Jude class reunion.  I will alway have fond memories.

I went to school with Joe at St. Mary of the Plains College where he graduated a year ahead of me. I remember how funny and involved in intramurals he was-- I don't think there was a softball game he didn't like!  And maybe a few beers here and there, too.

May Joe rest in peace and his memory live on through the stories told by those who called him friend.
