I met Dwayne's mother once, at Dwayne & Lita's wedding, and she was a very nice lady.  I remember giving her a ride back to her hotel after the reception was over and helping her out of my truck - because she was not used to a vehicle that high off the ground.  Even after only having met her that one time for the next couple of years we would still chat via AOL Instant Messenger. She would ping me out of the blue and ask how I was doing.  Very very nice and sweet lady - the world is worse without her.

Evelyn Gray Davis was born on July 4th, 1942, in Fountain, North Carolina. She was the second child born to the late Laura L. and Ernest C. Wooten. She accepted Christ at an early age, and was a member of Reid Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Fountain, North Carolina. She attended H.B. Sugg High School, where she gradua- ted in 1960. A few years later, she joined her sister Jean in Brooklyn, New York, where she met and married (the late) Roger Davis.
  She and her husband soon settled in Queens, New York. From that union was born a son; and she and Dwayne were inseparable. Evelyn was a devoted mother, who provided a happy, stable home environment for her son, and loved him dearly.  She developed lasting friendships with her next door neighbors Rosa Rivers and Ann Hamid. She also maintained friendships with several residents in her neighborhood over the years.
  Evelyn began working at New York Life Insurance Company in 1972, where she was a Section Head of Medical Fees Underwriting for over 25 years. She also attended LaGuardia College, where she earned a certificate in basic computing. She later worked as an Underwriter for State Farm Insurance (Carl Ferraro Agency) for several years before retiring in 2007. 
  Evelyn was a deep thinker, a loving mother, daughter and sister. She enjoyed taking trips down South with her sisters to visit her parents, family and old friends. As a child, she loved listening to music, singing, crocheting, and reading. One of her favorite publications was True Story Magazine, as well as suspense novels, particularly by Stephen King. She also enjoyed visiting Atlantic City on occasion, and reveled in watching the holiday fireworks, as well as watching the boats sail by on New York's East River. Evelyn was a private person, and while she cherished interaction with family and friends, she equally valued solitude.
  Evelyn was called to eternal rest on July 18, 2016. She is survived by one Aunt (Olivia Tyson), her sisters Jean Quick, Carolyn Edwards (Donald), Belinda Wooten (Companion, Andrew Mitchell), brother Troy Wooten, and was preceded in death by her brother Ernest Wooten, Jr., and nephew Reginald Quick. She also leaves behind a son Dwayne Davis (Claralita), a sister-in-law, Geraldine Wooten, two nieces Denise Caldwell (Napoleon), Sharon Honeyblue, three nephews, Trevor Wooten (Helen), Corey Edwards, Troy Wooten, Jr. (Charlene), and a host of relatives and friends. When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure  Evelyn Gray Davis will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew and 
loved her.
