Nanny, you were a perfect Grandma! You taught me how to be a good person. You are an inspiration! Every day I wake up wanting to be as good as you but it is extremely challenging and... SIGH ...I feel like I am failing. You were a perfect Great Grandma to Faith Eden for the just under 2 years you shared together... but now she is 6 years old and in First Grade and she doesn't remember much about you. And you never met Jaden Nikolas and now he is 3 years old. I pray that you and Pop are in Heaven and are happy and loved and being taken good care of by God! I hope you are watching Faith and Jaden grow! They are blessings and their smiles are the only happiness I have right now in my life! My family has been struggling for exactly a year now and each day has been extremely stressful but I know I am a survivor and I will work hard to give my kids a good life! I am extremely thankful to be their Mama! I understand now everything you ever did for me. Thank You SO much! I MISS YOU! I  LOVE YOU!!!  🦋

Edythe:  You were one of the most formidable women I have ever met.  You were soft spoken and always had a kind word for everyone.  I knew I could always come and talk to you and listen to your good advise.  Rest easy "My Other Mother", you have left us to be with John and the Lord.  I know you were rewarded with an express trip to Heaven.  I will miss you.

One of my fondest memories with Edythe is going up to her apartment in Astoria and seeing her baking cookies for the holidays.  When I walked in the house smelled wonderful...  She wore her little apron and offered me some cookies and a cup of tea, we talked for a while and before you know it I was leaving with a fresh baked care package to take home for my family.  A week later I got a note card in the mail with the recipe in it for the delicious cookies we shared.  Thank you Edythe for those memories.  Love Always, Carol Schroeder
