Claire was born in the Bronx in 1914 to Irish Immigrant parents: Patrick and Anne Griffin. Beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Doran. Cherished mother of six children:
Mary Anne Denon and her husband James of Hempstead, New York, the late Claire Azzolin of Fort Meyers, Florida and her husband Robert, Father Joseph A. Doran of the Diocese of Houston and his late wife, Kathy, Timothy P. Doran and his wife Kate of Fairbanks, Alaska, Christine D. Wyllie and her husband Charles of Franklin Lakes, New Jersey and Stephen M. Doran of New York City.Loving grandmother of ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren with another one on the way.
Claire lived a long and happy life and was loved and admired by all those she touched. She carried herself with grace and elegance and she will be forever remembered for her wisdom, wit, intelligence and charming personality. Her devout faith in God and devotion to the Blessed Mother carried her through life's journey and we rejoice in the knowledge that she has been welcomed into God's loving hands.
She was a graduate of Mount Saint Vincent College, Riverdale, New York. She began her career as a teacher and then pursued her passion as mother and homemaker. She was an accomplished seamstress, quilter and afficianado of all forms of needle work. Her story telling abilities were like none other. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
