Carmen Milagros Velez

Carmen Milagro Velez of Woodside, New York, passed away peacefully in her home Thursday May 4, 2023 with her daughters by her side at the age of 89. Born in Camuy, Puerto Rico on July 13, 1933, Carmen lived in Queens since 1964 and was the proud mother to Maribel Velez of Queens, NY, Rebeca Kilbride of Port Jervis, NY, and the late Jose Ramon Velez. She proudly worked in the Garment District in New York for 60 years as an inspector. Carmen enjoyed telenovelas and proudly described herself as a homebody. She adored her four grandsons, Paul De La Vega, Marcus De La Vega, Garrett Kilbride, and Dexter Kilbride, and especially treasured her three great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Rebecca, and Margaret De La Vega of Cape Cod. A mass of Christian Burial for Carmen will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Corpus Christi RC Church, 31-60 61st Street, Woodside, NY 11377.
