Bernard Gabriel Castro born in 1974 to Evelyn and Benedicto Castro. Graduated from Bryant High School and went on to work full time as a Clerical Assistant at a pharmaceutical company. He is survived by his mother Evelyn, sister Christine, brother in law Francis, and nephew Bennett.
Bernie led a simple and pleasant life. He was an avid walker, taking pride in the amount of steps he’d take each day. He’d never miss an opportunity to enjoy the weather. He loved sports and pop culture. He’d never miss the Superbowl, nor the Oscars. He loved music, and always had a small radio with him to listen to Lite FM or listen to sports broadcasts. He loved food, particularly italian food. Eating out was always a treat but certainly, nothing could beat the food he ate in Rome.
Bernie was a sweet and gentle soul. He was always eager to please and happy to help. He was a great companion for our mom and helped with anything she needed. He was so proud to be an uncle and godfather to Bennett. He is loved so much, and missed so deeply. While his time with us was too short, we find comfort knowing that he’s reunited with our dad Benny, as well as Uncle Bogie, Grandpa Jo and Grandma Fanny. He is safely home with our Lord. We were not ready to say goodbye but heaven was ready for the best angel, and that was Bernie for sure. We know that Bernie is always with us, smiling over us, protecting us and guiding us. We miss you Bern. See you up there. One sweet day.
