Wanda began her socializing in this world in Hollister, California on January 4th, 1927. She was blessed to join her heavenly father on Good Friday March 25th, 2016 in Lindsay, California. Heaven hasn't been the same since.
Wanda was not someone who would have people remembering her by something written, rather by stories told together. She attended beauty school and picked up on the most notable qualities of a great beautician...the gift of gab. Very few people could resist sharing with her their life stories, or sometimes other's unauthorized stories. It was easy to do because she had no problem sharing hers and never passed judgment for what was told to her. Her grandkids admit to sharing things with her that they couldn't imagine sharing with their parents. She took her skills to a small but popular store, J&W Market, which she ran with her husband, Jim Carter, for 35 years in Woodlake, California. J&W Market was well known in the community for their ability to stall anyone rushing up to the lake by getting caught in a conversation with Wanda. The kids in town knew that it was the place to go for those inexpensive candies behind the counter or to visit one of Wanda's many dogs. When she wasn't catching up with customers, she was most often found preparing for a family gathering that was rarely contained to just family members. She loved a road trip anywhere as long as it ended at a family member's home and created more great stories to tell. Later in life she was still well known for her spunky personality, perfectly curled red hair and her ability to love and be loved by so many.
Wanda has been reunited with her dancing partner, co-worker and Husband, Jim Carter of Woodlake, CA. She is also reunited with her Mother and Father, Ella & Jesse Enlow of Ivanhoe, CA and Brothers Clarence, Robert, Art and Jim Enlow.
Wanda's Sons Robert Estoker of Porterville, CA and Glen Carter of Colorado will carry on her legacy in this world. They will be joined in this by her Brother Glen Enlow of Woodstock, GA, Granddaughter Tami Shirer of Visalia, CA, Glen Carter, Jr of Hanford, CA, Grandson Christopher Estoker and Granddaughter Jennifer Scanlon of Little Rock, AR, Six Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews and many unforgettable friends with unforgettable memories.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 10 am at Woodlake District Cemetery, 165 N. Cypress in Woodlake.
