Gary was born on July 7, 1937 to Harold and Viola Nichols. He got his first job at age 12 hoeing weeds in Ojai, CA and cleaned classrooms at Nordhoff Elementary School, and had paper routes age 12 to 14 in Tucson, Arizona, then returned to Ojai where he attended Ventura High School and graduated in 1955. He married wife Sandy and moved to Ventura where he lived for ten years.
Education continued at Ventura College, UCLA (Professional Designation in Advertising and Public Relations) and Berean Bible College of the Assemblies of God.
At age 21 he worked for Arrowhead Water Company and three years later worked at Sparklets and was promoted to Sales Supervisor, eventually working for McKesson Corp. doing business with six companies and eleven states as manager of advertising and public relations. He retired in 1987 hearing the call and with then wife, Peggy they moved to Mt. Mesa in 1990 where he pastored for 10 years. After a long sickness and the passing of Peggy, he married current wife Navona in 2016 who was a long loving friend of both since 1997.
Gary is survived by wife Navona, two sons, Darren and spouse (Mari), and Darryl. Also survived by 3 grand-children and 2 great grand-children.
